Bill Beeler wants all of us to update our contact information on the CKAG website. Photos for the Member Gallery can be sent to Bill. He is also looking for individuals who would be interested in taking photos and writing 250 word bylines for CKAG events. These would be added to the website to update the scrapbook.
An amendment to the constitution was passed to appoint the Vice-President as the Regional Fine Art Show Chairperson for even years.
An amendment was introduced for consideration that would clarify CKAG’s position regarding original versus copied artwork. This is intended to close a gap in the constitution to protect CKAG and sponsored events.
The Heartland Regional Fine Art Exhibit will be at the Woodland Gallery Sept. 4th - 30th. Details are in the prospectus that has been mailed.
The nominating committee has been formed for officer appointments for next year.
The Cruising the Heartland created increased pedestrian traffic through the History Museum and the CKAG Gallery. As a result, the History Museum will be open during the Art Walks.
Lucia Beeler conducted the program. She embraces the simple things that life has to offer and believes that if we just keep our eyes open, images will choose us. Lucia is a firm believer in the ‘old school’ methods of photography, requiring a more personal connection between the photographer and the subject. She seeks and captures the geometry created by light. She also uses flash and additional techniques to removed or reduce distractions in the background.
The Artist of the Month results are as follows:
1st - Vennie Beeler
2nd - Theresa Shelton
3rd - Elsie Hall
